Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Quiz Results
Your specific answers to psychology (or Social Type) questions are NOT stored.
There are some general responses to demographic questions that are stored. These are general in nature and may include, but may not necessarily be limited to, general age group information. Copies of emails containing Social Type results may be deleted at some point, primarily to save storage space, as it is practical for us to do so. Unless asked to otherwise, we may retain your social type outcome, your name and email address. This is so we can offer further services to you.
We will act to comply with the legal requirements in Australia for data storage (see also below "What rights you have over your data").
We will comply with any request for deletion that comes from the same email address nominated when taking the quiz, provided it is legal for us to do so.
Membership Data
As stated in the Quiz Results section above, answers to psychology (or Social Type) questions are NOT stored. That said, the limited data stored from quiz outcomes (username, email, demographic data and social type) may then be used to generate an offer of membership to other services, which may require further information be provided, specific to those products. If that is the case, it will clearly be stated that this is in relation to a Membership offer (with stated benefits), and not just a quiz. Regardless, the storing of any additional membership information will not include the storing of any specific answers to psychology based questions.
We will act to comply with the legal requirements in Australia for data storage (see also below "What rights you have over your data").
We will comply with any request for deletion of Membership data that comes from the same email address nominated when becoming a Member, provided it is legal for us to do so.

Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Who we share your data with
Emails to and from us may pass through the internet unencrypted, and so be readable by third parties. We aim to provide minimal personally identifiable information in those emails.
While we do not directly on-sell your email address to third parties, if you choose to purchase a ticket to our events, through the ticketing portal on our website, you will be entering information into their ticketing website. They will ask for your email address and at least a first name. The email address you supply to them, in that purchase, may end up in their marketing database. We have knowingly chosen to use such a ticketing portal, because they also happen to do an amazing job of marketing our events to wider audiences. It is a trade off, for sure. But we hope, as a result, you get to meet lots of interesting people at our events. We've thought about that long and hard. And we believe its probably worth it in the long run. We hope you agree.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. All other data that is non-essential, we will probably delete over time. When we get around to it.
Data collected relating to membership and, or, quiz results, may be retained indefinitely, or until requested to be deleted by a quiz user or member. We will remove member access at our discretion, or as requested by a member from the registered email address. Note: we reserve the right to retain copies of all membership information as required by Australian and international law.
